Does a cockatiel make a good pet or does a parrotlet make a good pet? pick only one please and why you chose one of them? give information about the bird you say that makes a good pet. Thank you For answering.I would say cockatiel. That was my first bird and I'm happy we picked him. Cockatiels are not too loud, you can teach them to talk(male) they need attention but they don't mind being alone for a while. Mine will sit and play all day if you are gone. They will bond to you, too. Mine loves everyone that walks into the door ( 3 sisters with a lot of friends) but for some reason he likes me the best. When he sees my car pull up and he is out of the cage he will start to sing and than waddle/ run to the door. It's very cute. Hope it helps! http://parrotcentral.net/Although I have 4 parakeets, I would chose cockatiel to be better. They have much more of a personality than parrotlets. And they are much easier to train. cockatiel is best for you because it is very friendly and easy to take care ofif you are a first time bird owner i recommend a parakeet they not to mean unless you neglect them and even if they bit you as hard as they could would not do any serious damage but and parrot or cokatiel could litterally take off a finger.and parakeets are much easier to take care of and require less stimulizeation.Cockatiels are better for a first time bird owner. They are cheaper and much more easy to keep tame and train. They love affection and being held. Parrotlets are more difficult and if you are not aware of how to deal with a bugger of a bird, they can get mean to you and think they are boss. They are also like larger Amazon parrots in that they often don't like their body scratched. I would say parrotlet. And sorry, I don't really have a reason. I just think they look cool.
