Before a race, I like to have a nice egg or plain bagel with butter. Eating fruits like bananas and apples are also great to have. Did you know that bananas actually prevent cramps? Also, drink fluids like water and Gatorade. If it's near the afternoon, I suggest Power Bars or Chewy granola bars. Remember after a race or a long run to treat yourself well with chocolate, ice cream, anything! Hope this helps! Something light, like a trail mix or a granola bar. Make sure you drink your water slowly. well im a runner mostly endurance races and my coach always makes us drink allot of fluids like Gatorade or even water before running and for a snack you could simply eat a fruit or a good meal before going running are pastas like spaghetti.
hope this helps!Gornola bar/pastait doesn't really matter what you eat like a few hours before it matters on what you have eaten for the past few weeks. ok you know how usually people say that you should eat pasta the night before a race. This is completely wrong. your body needs to store up enough carbs and then it can later use them as and energy supply so it doesn't really matter what you eat like right before. as long as your eating good stuff you should do fine when you runCliff bars or power bars.
