Atheists, if you don't believe in God why are you always in the religion section?

1. Seekers, interested in truth
2. Trouble makers
I try not to respond to those of the 2nd persuasion.
This is an "Open Forum" which encourages thought and ideas of individuals. There are other sights that are strictly dedicated to particular religions. Anyone has the right to enter and comment on this site. Believing in a deity is not a prerequisite for thinking about spirituality or how religion has helped and/or hindered society.
Christians have difficulty understanding that atheism is not another religion, but a belief system based upon personal experience, and directed reading from sources that may include the Christian bible, but goes much further.
One "becomes" atheist when one rejects the concept of deities of any sort.
I think most atheist arent even 100% sure of what they claim to believe. I think some part of them believes in God, but it's there anger they have towards Him that doesnt make them admit what little faith they do have. When the time comes that help is needed beyond "human hands" they may find their self calling God's name, when they truly have no hope left in anything else. I think they come to veiw a Christians posting for any kind of proof there may be that God exist, truly they are looking for someone to proof them wrong. But as the Bible mentions " Christians walk (live) by (faith) not by sight."
No one in this world, Christian or Atheist will ever have all the answers, we cant and wont know everything. There are mysterys in this world, and unexplainable things but to the Atheist mind this is unacceptable. They are the kind of people that need hardcore facts. It's truly sad, to think like that must mean you have no hope for a better future and good things to come. It is what it is to you, what you see is what you get you assume. But us Christians or even other religions that beleive in a god have some hope.
Also, they are the kind of people that need things scientifically proven, but in science there is error. Every thing "scientifically proven" is not for certain - most studies are proven to be wrong or misinterpeted later. Science studies are full of human error. One reason I put my faith in another, people are always wrong. We didnt create the world so who are we to say sciences says this or that?!
...hey "-"
since you werent smart enough to come up with a name for yourself ill just say "hey doofus! Why dont you anwser the question posted?
Bearing false witness, how so?
I dont think you know what your talking about. Get a clue! Ok doofus moron?
It's also hilarious how many atheists, especially on YA!, like to copy and paste ideas and "facts" from Atheist websites instead of being intelligent enough to come up with their own ideas. As you can see from the Answers that you have gotten thus far, the atheists left simple, non supportive and ignornant answers.
It's rather pointless to argue with people that are too stubborn to open their hearts and accept the truth. There is so much overwhelming evidence that the events that occured throughout the Bible are true but atheists would rather spend their time attempting to disprove the Bible and hating Christians then looking for that information, and there is a ton of it out there if they would just search for it as much as they search for anti Christian material.
An atheist is a person that does not believe in a god or gods because there are no factual data to support it. We consider it a myth, similar to Santa Clause, the tooth fairy, etc. A myth that was created by persons that could not explain the hows and whys that we are here. There was no science to explain the creation of the universe or how man came into being. Without knowledge, myth/legends were created to give answers to their unsolved questions. Over time, many erroneous myths were erased from history, others evolved and took a life of their own.
I became an atheist once I realized that most religions, even Christianity was born/evolved from previous myths/stories. That the Bible has not one fact that was not known at the time of print. If a "god" gave knowledge to those persons, why not a piece of evidence that was not known, like why did it not talk about undiscovered land (America), or dinasaurs, or that the Earth is not 6,000 years old, the cure for cancer, something, anthing of real value. Oh, because you have to have faith. To atheists the idea of faith is just a way for these persons to get away with not providing facts or evidence.
If you were not raised with religion of any sort, or ever heard of the tooth fairy or santa clause. Yet, were educated by science and fact based information. And at the age of 18, someone came to you and told you about religion and how this "god" created everything, you would not beleive a word of it. In fact, you would read the bible word for word, cover to cover, and realize it is a poorly written fable.

Others are here for rational discussion.
But most are just here for laughs.
it's religion AND spirituality. meaning anyone who has any ideas or opinions about religion and/or spiritual ideas should be allowed to voice them.
Yet another one of these questions.
Oh,how I missed these.
An Atheist believes that he can get no help through prayer but that he must find in himself the inner conviction, and strength to meet life, to grapple with it, to subdue it and enjoy it.
An Atheist believes that only in a knowledge of himself and a knowledge of his fellow man can he find the understanding that will help to a life of fulfillment.
He seeks to know himself and his fellow man rather than to know a god. An Atheist believes that a hospital should be built instead of a church. An Atheist believes that a deed must be done instead of a prayer said. An Atheist strives for involvement in life and not escape into death. He wants disease conquered, poverty vanquished, war eliminated. He wants man to understand and love man.
He wants an ethical way of life. He believes that we cannot rely on a god or channel action into prayer nor hope for an end of troubles in a hereafter.
He believes that we are our brother's keepers; and are keepers of our own lives; that we are responsible persons and the job is here and the time is now.
Either that or we were sent here by God to make your faith stronger. You pick.
Atheism isn't religion - it is the rejection of religion. "Theism" means belief in a deity; adding the "A" means the opposite.
For us, science, research and proof of natural reasons for natural phenomenon lead us to reject belief in a "god" because nothing about "god" is logical or reasonable. For me, it was the nagging questions about god, such as "why do bad things happen to good people?" that led me to research religion vs. science, and what I found was mountains of evidence that the world was not created in the way that the bible says it was. Then, I was able to clearly think about the world for myself, and I discovered that god was not necessary for the world to be what it is. If a tree or a person was made by nature rather than god, would it be any less wonderful? The difference lies in the fact that there is scientific evidence to back up our assertion that the bible, and all other holy books, are wrong about how the world came to be. We can prove the age of the earth and determine our evolutionary ancestors; I think the turning point for me was when I decided that a loving god would have no reason to plant evidence on the earth to decieve us into disbelief. The classic argument against this is "Satan did it," but again, the evidence that exists in contradiction to the bible tells us that there is no satan as well.
In short, we are driven by logical thinking and reason. If real evidence of god was found that proved his existence, we would become believers overnight. Of course, nothing has been found, and the evidence against religion continues to mount.
Atheism is just a title - we don't have meetings or churches, no collection plates, no holy books or prophets... just science and proof, learning and logical thought.
