» Is it real expensive to live in alaska like rent food ect?
Are the utilities real expensive?Does it snow all the time?I been thinking of goin thereit's one of the cheepest places to live(in america), rent-wise, I'm not sure about the food but I think it's about the same as the rest of the country. Of course it snows and gets cold in the winter, but what I'd be most worried about is the daylight. during the winter, they get between 4 and 6 hours of sunlight/day and in the summer it's the exact opposite, about 4-6 hours of darkness per day.Rent is cheap. Food is very expensive.um my guess is the other two just looked up info. cuz its not cheap here at all. an average 3 bedroom can run bout 1200 a month. not including utilities. if your heat is based on electric be ready ...... - 2009-07-04

Am i the only one here that think that it sucks everytime macromedia launches a new flash version with a new flash player version? :sigh: Well, fellows, i got an issue here, and for as it seems, the way that i'm trying to resolve this, is not the most correct... Allmost everytime i ask someone "so, what do you think about this web site?", the answer is allmost allways the same: "I'm sorry, but i can't see it correctly!...", because they don't have flash player 8 on their pc's. Simple to resolve, right? » Under establishment clause the government maintains the power to do all of the following except?
a. leave church property untaxed b. provide public funds for some uses in church related schools c. establish an acceptable voluntary prayer for use in public schools d. exercise control over public seasonal displaysSome of those are inspite of the establishment clause, not because of it. For example, the government can use public funds for some uses in church related schools if the uses are not church related (like to help fund academic aspects of the education, but not religious aspects). That's not because of the establishment clause, the fact that they don't fund anything religious makes the clause not apply at all. it just bothers me. I mean there's nothing wrong with being smart but she always talks about it and it always sounds like she's trying to make me feel stupid. she says things like, "oh, I'm taking this class, and you probably won't be good at it. You have to be really smart to take it, which isn't a problem for me because i'm on the honor roll." and I'm not exaggerating that. whenever she gets a test back she always walks around and holds the test in her hand just so I can see it and a lot of times she corrects the way I speak. what can I say to her WITHOUT sounding too rude? The Red Sox have reportedly been talking to Baldelli, would it be a good move to sign him? Can he stay healthy? And anybody have any info on Tazawa is he a number 2? 3? Think the Sox will get either?Baldelli? He could certainly fit in as a 4th OF if this weird disease he has can be kept in check. Muscle fatigue can really hamper a ML career. I hope the best for him either way! I don't think Tazawa will be ready to jump right into the Sox rotation, these guys from Japan could really benefit from some time in the minors. » Iodine versus Bacitracin or any antibiotic
In a post op wound care setting, when do surgeons, nurses or staff use an Iodine based topical(or Iodophor) versus Bacitracin (or any antibiotic ointment - eg Polysporin or Neomycin) on a wound? Which is better in fighting bacteria, infection, etc. and under which circumstances? Responses should be based on practical real life use, not just theoretical.Hello Jaleva, It appears, from what I have found that iodine based products are used as a cleaning solution, preoperatively. (I have typically seen iodine used as a scrub before surgery and not used post-op on all wounds). If a patient is a diabetic, or immunocompromised, a surgeon is more likely to use an antiseptic topical solution/ointment. In situations where iodine is used ...... - 2009-07-04

» How to use Benbo Tripod
Well, I got a Benbo Trekker tripod off ebay (with a stroboframe ballhead). So far I find it much harder and more time consuming to use than my 19.98 Walmart tripod. I have not been able to locate any Benbo user manual online (if such exists). Any tips for speeding up the process? One big thing is how cumbersome it is to attach to the camera. I finally figured out to loosen the ballhead and grab the stem of the head and rotate to screw it into the camera base. I am used to the small separate piece that has a quick connect attachment to my cheap tripod. I just leave that part screwed into my camera so attaching/detaching from the tripod is a 10 second deal with the cheap tripod. I also have problems with the independent legs going every w...... - 2009-07-04

The reason why i need it because I spent to much on my debit card and every tranactions that will go through tisa 25 dollar fee and they all go through on mondayBy my experiences, and alot of serious research, you should only work with established, land-based, payday lenders. Many of them also have on-line sites. Additionally, do not, borrow from more than one payday lender at a time. » Useful layout tricks
I came across a neat layout trick the other day. It involves the use of a 100px square gif that you use in your background. It is useful when you are working out your positioning because you can quickly estimate the pixel positioning. Here is the Layout Grid Example (http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/d.elliott/layout.htm) Also included in this page is an illustration of creating a horizonatally and vertically centered division that stays centered when the page is resized. It also contains two absolutely positioned divs that take their sizing from the parent. I also show an example of using two classes in a single tag. Also look at the CSS - I crab at folks for mixing up their style blocks. Note the consistent progression of propert...... - 2009-07-04

» Beginner help w/ filters, etc...
Greetings, I'm just getting back into film SLR photography, and need some advice on what I should get in the way of basic filters for the lenses. I know for outdoor shots, I'm definitely going to want a polarizer to help with clarity and reduce reflections, etc. What would you suggest as something for everyday use on the lenses, other than the polarizer? My main goal is helping to protect the front optics from contact. Mr. Murphy being the sneaky guy that he is, I know he'll eventually reach over, knock the cap off and try to create problems. It's cheaper to replace a filter than it is a lens, so I'd rather the filter take the abuse. The US is supposedly at fault for triggering this global crisis by allowing such unregulated Capitalism, and the American financial hegemony is over.... the end of the Empire, blah blah blah...yet, when the poop hit the fan, the rest of the world dumps their own currency onto the market and then runs back to the dollar as their their reserve currency? Wtf??? The fluctuation in the value of the US Dollar has a lot to do with the price of oil. Oil is traded in USD. Oil fell, so the dollar went up. Of course there are other factors, but when the price of oil plummets by more than 50% in a just few months it will always have a noticeable effect on the USD's relative value during that time. The crisis in the US means that Americans have...... - 2009-07-04
» How do I know if it is a wide angle lens?
How do I know if a lens is wide angle of not?45-50mm is a standard lens, less than that is getting to wide angle - depending on the camera you have as a Canon DSLR will make a normal 28mm into a virtual standard lens because of the crop factor and I think thats true for most dslr's, but I might be wrongAs Tempra stated, a 50mm lens on a 35mm film camera is considered to be similar to what the eye sees. Personally I find that 70mm is nearer the mark. This means that anything less than 50mm is a wide angle, the lower the number the wider the angle. Also as Tempra noted the crop factor on a digital spoils this somewhat because a 28mm lens for instance would become equivalent to a 42mm on a digital with a 1.5 crop factor. This is why the ext...... - 2009-07-04

Source: http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5iSuRKa8IIINFXsz1Ko9zRTv5_0kg WHO denies advising tourists to China for Olympics to pack bird flu drug 22 minutes ago GENEVA The World Health Organization denies it is recommending that visitors to China for this summer's Olympic Games should pack an antiviral drug to protect themselves against avian flu. The denial comes in the wake of a report Monday by the Italian news agency Ansa, which said WHO is warning tourists going to Beijing for the August sports event to arm themselves with the drug Tamiflu "in case of exposure to the disease virus." The Ansa story quotes Walter Pasini, director of the WHO Collaborative Centre of Medicine for Tourism in Rimini, Italy. But W...... - 2009-07-04
» My Big Thread of Questions
First, sorry for the length of this post. Simply put, I have so many questions all at once that spamming the board with multiple threads wouldn't exactly be the best thing in the world to do. Anyhow, on with the show: I just polished off hiragana (again), and I'm starting on katakana (again). Only thing is, I've finished all the hiragana practices in my little booklet. Does anyone have any ideas for some kind of daily exercise I could do so that my skills don't just fade away, like the first time? I don't know any grammar/vocabulary that I could practice with (just the stuff I've picked up from watching Japanese television shows I download from my newsgroup), and I don't know whether writing down all the hiragana characters a few ti...... - 2009-07-04
» Tomb Raider 1: Can you shoot the dinosaur or can you only outrun him?
dude, stop spazzing out and check for tomb raider walkthorughs on gamefaqs or somethingokay this is what you can do got it from a website VALLEY FLOOR: Now continue with caution into the valley. You'll encounter another raptor as the valley widens. Kill it then take a careful look around. See the rather large, three-toed footprints? Notice the broken wooden bridge spanning the valley? Feel the ground begin to shake? Nope, it's not an earthquake. That's Mr. Tyrannosaurus Rex, and they don't call him "tyrant lizard king" for nothing. If you want to go head-to-head, give yourself plenty of room to maneuver, don't let him get Lara in a corner, keep moving and keep shooting. And watch out for the head; he can gra...... - 2009-07-04
» Do you have to be a good drawer to start tagging?
Not necessarily. I know a lot of people who are, quite franky, sh*t artists but go on scribbling on walls anyway. If you want to be seen as talented- then you need some talent. My suggestion is don't just scribble some BS word on a wall, make it meaningful and interesting. Look up the street artist Banksy as well if you don't know about him.Although desks and dressers very rarely have anything to do with graffiti, there are some instances when you must visualize yourself as a boxlike storage compartment in order to achieve your artistic vision. If you are not comfortable with this or consistently imagine yourself to be particularly ugly or broken, then I suggest you find something else to do with your time--like feeding...... - 2009-07-04

» Toulouse v PSG (12th Jan) [R]
Thursday kickoff for the boys, might be live on Sentana over here in the Uk, I'll have to check. Its going to be tough, but Toulouse are reeling from going down 2-1 from the Lyon boys from the CFA. Will we get the backlash or will we stroll past a team lacking confidence? Given their recent form, I would suggest the the latter over the former. But we still stink away from home and Vermelles still managed to trouble our back-line at times. But what the hell, I am in a positive mood. 2-1 PSG - Rodriguez and Pauleta to score. :)On a une revanche prendre sur le match de Coupe de la Ligue perdu, c'est sr. » Find the roots of: x^2+13x+22=0 Please show me step by step.?
The back of the book actually says -11 or -2. Thing is how the heck do they get that, i tried factoring and decomposing the equation, just doesn't seem to work. Appreciate if u can help me out and show me step by step please.This is a factoring problem.. x(squared) + 13x + 22 = 0 x(squared) + 13x + 22 = 0 (x + 11) (x + 2) = 0 (11x+2x=13x and 11x2=22, which is how I got) x + 11 = 0 x + 2 = 0 subtract 11 subtract 2 (from both sides) x = -11 x = -2 Hence -11 or -2!!x² + 13x + 22 = 0 (x + 2)(x + 11) = 0 x = -2 or -11 so for factoring you need 2 numbers that multiply for 22 and add for 13, which are 2 and 11 then when you get (x + 2)(x + 11) = 0 remember that if you multiply 2 things and ge...... - 2009-07-04

» Water and Ice on top of Winter Pool Cover?
My wife and I have recently moved into a new home with a pool. During closing the seller advised to keep the winter cover free of water by pumping it off. We purchased a cover pump and stayed on top it fairly well until just recently. We now have at least an inch of frozen solid water on top of the cover (thicker in some spots). Not sure what to do? What is the harm in leaving water and/or ice on the pool cover until the Spring? You should be fine. the harm would be that the weight can pull the sides on an above ground pool. Don't lose sleep over it. To avoid this next year get an air pillow and put it in the center of the pool before covering.its perfectly fineThe weight of the water/ice will rip the cover Keep in mind that th...... - 2009-07-04

a. leave church property untaxed b. provide public funds for some uses in church related schools c. establish an acceptable voluntary prayer for use in public schools d. exercise control over public seasonal displaysSome of those are inspite of the establishment clause, not because of it. For example, the government can use public funds for some uses in church related schools if the uses are not church related (like to help fund academic aspects of the education, but not religious aspects). That's not because of the establishment clause, the fact that they don't fund anything religious makes the clause not apply at all.

When I started dabbling in photography, back in the 80's, I seem to recall that someone had mentioned sk...... - 2009-07-04

Even if there is an infinite number of universes they are all part of THE universe. Conversely, the space that we occupy, and that all of the galaxies we know of [appear to be] expanding from one central point, the center of this universe. » Hmm...isn't it ironic how the dollar has gained strength since the beginning of this global financial crisis? ?

The denial comes in the wake of a report Monday by the Italian news agency Ansa, which said WHO is warning tourists going to Beijing for the August sports event to arm themselves with the drug Tamiflu "in case of exposure to the disease virus." » My Big Thread of Questions

The back of the book actually says -11 or -2. Thing is how the heck do they get that, i tried factoring and decomposing the equation, just doesn't seem to work. Appreciate if u can help me out and show me step by step please. This is a factoring problem.. x(squared) + 13x + 22 = 0 x(squared) + 13x + 22 = 0 (x + 11) (x + 2) = 0 (11x+2x=13x and 11x2=22, which is how I got) x + 11 = 0 x + 2 = 0 subtract 11 subtract 2 (from both sides) x = -11 x = -2 Hence -11 or -2!!x² + 13x + 22 = 0 (x + 2)(x + 11) = 0 x = -2 or -11 so for factoring you need 2 numbers that multiply for 22 and add for 13, which are 2 and 11 then when you get (x + 2)(x + 11) = 0 remember that if you multiply 2 things and ge...... - 2009-07-04

What is the harm in leaving water and/or ice on the pool cover until the Spring? You should be fine. the harm would be that the weight can pull the sides on an above ground pool.
