» Indexing a scan of an article
I have a scan of a magazine article which I wish to have indexed. I have created a desc file as follows Ship of Shame Is including all 1,700 words of the article inside the zoomwords metatag acceptable? No, you will most likely hit the maximum length acceptable for meta keywords (and ZOOMWORDS) which is 1000 characters. This means only the first 1000 characters of your ZOOMWORDS tag would be indexed. FYI, your HTML example above contains a typo. It should be "content=" and not "contents=". Just in case that was actually a cut+paste from your real webpage. Thanks Raymond....... - 2010-02-07

» Beer And Money - What Unusual Ways Have You Tried To Get Money For Your Beer?
Money for beer? I once drove midnight cabs around gay clubs so I could get some beer money on the side. It was a little hard since I'm straight :) But seriously, that was back in the college days and the best way to get your beer AND money is to be part of the industry (the beer industry, that is). It's fun to do, and with the right spirit, the pay is a pretty bundle.I once froze my tongue to a pole for a beer. Hahahaha this jack *** sold me his brand new PS3 for $100 so he could buy a few thirty packs, well so he could have me go to the store and buy them. i once killed a man. wait no i didnt but i did rob a bank no i didnt umm if you dont have money the snatch and run method works best...... - 2010-02-07
» Should I call and say I missed you at my wedding? ?
Some of my friends didn't show. I am really surprised. Maybe I should wait for them to call. Judging on their absence's, I really don't think that they are your "friends" at all.I'm sorry that some of your friends didn't show to your wedding. That must have hurt! I wouldn't call your friends just to say, "Hey, why weren't you at my wedding or we missed you at the wedding." However if its someone you talk to more than once a year, there is nothing wrong with calling, if you do it as a normal part of life. But keep in mind, if you do call and they say nothing or ask nothing about your wedding, that will be opening the wounds for you all over again. If they don't say anything and you do say so...... - 2010-02-07
» Uganda: Government Takes Action On Bird Flu
Uganda: Government Takes Action On Bird Flu 26 October 2007 Posted to the web 28 October 2007 Hilary Bainemigisha Kampala ALL poultry owners in Uganda are required to register their chickens, including indigenous breeds, with the parish chiefs. The measure is meant to prepare for a possible bird flu outbreak now that the disease has spread to South Sudan. Bird flu, caused by the H5N1 influenza virus, first reported in Asia in 2003, has killed over 250 million birds and 201 people. According to the agriculture ministry, the district veterinary officers have been instructed to preside over the registration exercise. "All registration should be completed by December when the ministry plans to carry out a country-wide animal census," said Dr...... - 2010-02-07
» What do you think of Ecclestone's latest Gold, Silver and Bronze medal idea?
The man seems determined to wreck F1.The man has lost all sense and needs to sod off into retirement.Well I remember back to the 1993 season, the last 2 years have become a joke, not by the racers but by the powers that be Report Abuse Rubbish. Formula 1 is a sport where safety has to come into play. Yes, it is interesting to watch overtaking, but wouldn't that increase accidents? And then some cars are just not as quick as others. Then to counter that he will say we will use standard engines. If I wanted to watch standard engines, I'd go watch A1GP, which I do love watching. But, this is Formula 1, and I think Ecclestone has too much power over it, like you said, wrecking the...... - 2010-02-07
» What is a polar molecule?
I am doing a review for science.A polar molecule has a positive and negative end because of electronegativity. H2O, for example, is a polar molecule because 1) it has lone pairs 2) the oxygen is pulling the electrons from the hydrogen into its vicinity making it have a slightly negative charge while the two hydrogens have a slightly positive charge.A polar molecule forms when an atom of high electronegativity (one that attracts electrons), such as chlorine, bonds with a less electronegative atomA molecule is composed of one or more chemical bonds (covalent bonds) between molecular orbitals of different atoms. A molecule may be polar either as a result of polar bonds due differences in electronegativity as described above, or as a result of ...... - 2010-02-07
» Why would my Hyundai Sonata stall out? ECU fuse blows, engine runs rough, and I can hear a tapping noise.?
I have a 1999 Hyundai Sonata 4 cylinder engine. It is a interference motor. Timing belt broke so I had that the timing belt and the other one, replaced at a shop. I picked it up from the shop and on the way home the car stalled out. The ECU fuse blew, changed it and had to charge the battery. I got it home and looked at it. I found that the alternator belt was about halfway off, so I fixed that. The engine is running real rough, shakes and I can hear a tapping (clicking) sound from inside the engine I believe. So the mechanic that replaced the timing belt said that he thinks it needs a new computer but I dont believe he is right, it wasn't messed up before and the engine ran alot smoother and didn't make a tapping sound. The sound...... - 2010-02-07
» Multiple subdomains with one domain forum?
Ok... looking to see if this is possible or if we'd need to purchase A LOT of licenses for this... Setting up a main site with 30 subdomains which all link to the main site. With this, we're looking to setup the VB software. Assuming that the one forum can be used to support the subdomains, but wouldn't assume that the content could instantly update to that subdomain... (i.e... honda.cars.com and toyota.cars.com)... looking to see if one forum could update so that the honda portion is displayed for that section and then the toyota portion would update for that section when selected (not using those domains). Thinking about this dream of an idea or possibly registering 30+ domains and then getting a lot of 30 licenses of VB. Ideally we'...... - 2010-02-07
» Beauty over brains, or brains over beauty?
i don't know why just asking!defiantly brains over beauty. Beauty is what attracts the guy or girl, but how long can you go with a dumb person who is attractive? honestly you kinda want both but what you really need is intelligence or you will be stuck with one hot idiot! lol i hope this helped and everyone should look for the intellectual side of someone because you want to be able to relate to the person as well! Then again, there is nothing wrong with a little physical attraction! ;)it depends on if its guys or girls, but anyway, I think it's a little of both. I mean, you don't want to date a guy that's like REALLY gross... then you wouldn't want to look at him. But you wouldn't want him to be stupid eithe...... - 2010-02-07

» How bad are cheap LCD TV's?
I see a lot of tv's at wal mart and such for under $500 but they are a name i have never heard of. Just wondering if they are worth buying. Im not worried about supreme quality picture, i just do not want it to break. The problem with the no name brands is that they are made from parts obtained from the lowest bidders by a mix of manufacturers in assorted countries. And the parts aren't around very long. Trying to get one repaired, even under warranty is sometimes impossible, parts no longer available. Usually, the warranty is shorter than a year as well. Sometimes, Amazon has closeouts or just really good prices on similar tvs, and for free shipping and no tax, it's better to get a name which will be around in case you ...... - 2010-02-07
» Atheists, if you don't believe in God why are you always in the religion section?
I always thought that being an atheist means that you don't believe in God, but yet I always see atheists answering questions concerning God. How would you clarify being and atheists? Is it a religion or belief? And what made you become one? Many atheists are composed of the 14-20 year old age group and they don't even realize what it is that they believe in and are denying. They think it makes them look cool and logical. I have seen countless teenagers posting anti Christian questions on yahoo answers. Hardly ever do I see a serious, EDUCATED, adult atheist that can put forth some real knowledge and reckon with the Christian faith. » Sun intensity throughout day and season
I read somewhere that the sun at its midday peak is 10 times more intense (in terms of harmful UV rays) than three hours before or after. As someone interested in protecting myself from dangerous sun exposure, I?d like to know what the distribution of sun intensity throughout day and season is? A good answer should be expressed in terms of percentage of the peak. That is, if zero is absolute protection from sun (e.g., inside a sun-proof chamber underground), and the most extreme value time and season is set to 100, how does the sun intensity vary?Typical variation in UV intensity -- the part of sunlight that causes sunburn -- can be seen here: http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/stratosphere/uv_index/gif_files/diur_guv.gif The ...... - 2010-02-07
» I'm confused, and looking for some other people's input...?
I'm struggling with the way a family member is handling her current pregnancy, and I don't know where to go from here. I'll start with a little background, so you can hopefully understand where I'm coming from. She's high-risk, having had extreme HBP early on during her last pregnancy. She ended up having the baby at 27 weeks gestation but only 24 weeks developed. He was less than 1.5 pounds at birth. Tough little guy won the fight for his life, but those first couple of months were very difficult for him. We know he's a miracle baby because now, other than being a bit small for his age (he's about 1 year old and the size of the average 8-9 month old), he's as developed as a normal 11-12 month old...... - 2010-02-07

» First full scale structural testing with 160 mph winds
In a recent issue of Eos (http://www.agu.org/pubs/eos/eo0725.shtml), I see that the International Hurricane Research Center (http://www.ihrc.fiu.edu/media/news.htm) is now building a new "Wall of Wind (http://www.techreview.com/Infotech/18822/?a=f)" which will generate category 5 or 160 mph winds for modelling effects on full scale structures. Although it cannot cover the wind speeds of the most intense tornadoes, it does cover most and is enough to destroy many if not most houses. I noticed when I export raw (CR2) files from lightroom, the JPG files are a little larger than just plain JPG from camera. I never really thought of this, its only a few MB difference. I now have a external 500GB HD so maybe I wont use my website anymore. (I used to use my website to hold unpublished albums just to store all my photos...dont need to anymore...) I hope the language hasn't changed drasitically since then. So far, of the 3 hours of watching it, ive learned a little bit. Its made by the "Japan foundation". There's a few quirks I can't stand on it: 1) So far, it has NOT explained how the particles are used. For "ni" it simply said it was for location, not all the other uses for it. Hi all, i'm new to the forum, but been a regular visitor for some time.. I understand the creation of dynamic clips, but am having a hard time animating them, since I don't know much about Tween classes (or timers?) yet. Here's the deal: I would like to fade or move each menu item in after it is created in a manner so that they appear one after another. If I just use the dynamic clip's onEnterFrame function to increase alpha the problem is that the items appear to fade all at once as they are created almost instantly. Feds Seeking Source E. Coli Outbreak http://www.forbes.com/business/commerce/feeds/ap/2006/09/19/ap3026440.html By ANDREW BRIDGES , 09.19.2006, 02:00 AM Federal health officials await test results from California farms and packing plants that could allow them to pinpoint the source of an E. coli outbreak that's sickened spinach eaters across the country. Though state and federal officials have traced the outbreak to a California company's fresh spinach, they still don't know how bacteria contaminated the leafy greens. They have ruled out tampering, leaving multiple other potential sources of contamination, including the water and fertilizer that farmers in California's Sal...... - 2010-02-07

» What will happen to my chihuahua if she get pregnant by my 7 kilo beagle. shes 3 kilos?
Your best option might be to ask your vet. After all, he went to school for this stuff. :) Unlike most of the people you'll find here. She may not even be able to conceive, or she might have a miscarriage. Sometimes the genetic differences in breeds are not compatible and no puppy forms. If she does have a viable pregnancy, then it is likely that she will need a C section because the puppy will be too big to deliver naturally. If your chihuahua and beagle are not already fixed, I suggest that you get her spayed and him neutered. This will prevent the problem of pregnancy in her and territoriality in him. This has C-section and one very expensive vet bill written all over it. I suggest you have the Chihuahua spayed and the Bea...... - 2010-02-07

Hi ya You all have heard me say about my server I have with them - and me praising them, but that is about to change. On Friday, I had them install RedHat 6.2 (it was on 5.2 before) onto my dedicated server. I also requested PHP4.04pl1, mySQL 3.23.33, Perl 5.6.0, Apache 1.3.17 to be installed at the same time. This was agreed. They set up for server at about 11:30pm on Friday. I went in to it - guess what? PHP 3.0.15 installed, MySQL v3.22.23 and Perl 5.0.5 installed - ie the default setup. Not pleased by this, I emailed them. And emailed them and emailed them no reply. So I set it all up myself. » Why is the sky blue where there are no clouds?
Why is it not black or green or purple? The sky is blue partly because air scatters short-wavelength light in preference to longer wavelengths. Combined, these effects scatter (bend away in all directions) some short, blue light waves while allowing almost all longer, red light waves to pass straight through. When we look toward a part of the sky not near the sun, the blue color we see is blue light waves scattered down toward us from the white sunlight passing through the air overhead. Near sunrise and sunset, most of the light we see comes in nearly tangent to the Earth's surface, so that the light's path through the atmosphere is so long that much of the blue and even yellow light is scattered out, leaving the sun rays and the c...... - 2010-02-07

"Malaysia is now free of the H5N1 virus after three months since the last infection," Agriculture Minister Muhyiddin Yassin told a press conference. "Our surveillance has shown that there are no outbreaks," he said. "So today we declare Malaysia free of the bird flu virus." However, the minister said that with the disease still spreading in neighbouring Indonesia, bans on imports of birds and eggs from affected countries would remain in place. They think my hair color is fine the way it is and they are very hard to convince so I need some REALLY good ideas to convince them and FAST! People with emo cuts are usually rebellious, no? Go get it done behind there back, or beg. As long as you want to live in their home and have them support you, you will need to respect them and their wishes. You can always move out, support yourself and do anything you want with your hair, provided, of course, that your boss at work allows it! Black is the hardest color to get out if you do not like it. The only way to ever change your hair color once you have dyed it black is to either grow it our completely or to have to strip your hair color which can be very damaging. Alright, its hard for me to even admit this, as I think I have a decent understanding of the "sensible" side of weather, but vorticity always remains a slippery concept. One thing that I would like cleared up involves cyclonic and anti-cyclonic vorticity. In both cases with increasing vorticity advection, you would expect upward vertical motion, or lift. Both situations would deal with air moving into a tighter spin, thus conservation of angular momentum would cause the air to rise, however, only cyclonic vorticity is ever mentioned in this situation. Why wouldn't air that moves into a strong area of anti-cyclonic vorticity want to rise as its also experiencing a conservation of angular momentum. for Christmas? I was talking to a co-worker and she said they get their kids three presents from them and nothing from Santa. She said she just puts a few trinkets in the stocking for Christmas morning but that's it. I asked her why and she said Jesus only got three presents so she explained to her kids that they shouldn't get more than Jesus. I think it's a pretty good idea if you are religious. Each of her kids gets one box with clothing and the other two are toys or other things like that. It keeps the children from expecting mountains of presents each year and it also teaches them to appreciate what they have. I don't do this with my Children but I do have a limit. Each Child gets 5-6 presents from us and only a stoc...... - 2010-02-07
» Are you an Aspirational or a Non-Aspirational?
The old definitions of rich and poor, working class or middle class, Left and Right, ABC1C2DE are outdated. Society is split truly down the middle. Those that love the Thatcher/ New Labour way, and those who don't. Now it is stagnation countered by dynamism. Or it is ruthless grasping thievery countered by prudence and service. Here are my definitions: The priority of the Aspirationals is to get on in life, to make money, to spend on designer brands, clubbing, big cars, expensive houses, and leading a lifestyle that will bring envy in others. I am considerably richer than you and Loadsamoney are typical Harry Enfield parody aspirationals. They have contempt for those losers prepared to work for nothing, or prepa...... - 2010-02-07
» Strange finish on a Profesional Print
Hi There, I was given a print of my 1 year old nephew the other day taken by a local studio, being critical of this type of thing, I noticed that the print had a strange sort of pixelation effect, similar to a photograph in a newspaper, but a lot finer. This pixelation detracts from the overall picture, which I think is a shame, however I looked back at other professional pics I have and noticed that some others had this type of “finish” Is this a reflection of the quality of the paper used? Or simply how the majority of professional prints are finished? Many thanks SynergyWithout seeing the print it's hard to say. Is it a paper surface texture? Then it's some sort of matte or fine art paper with a textured surface. ...... - 2010-02-07
» Canon batteries
Can anyone shed some light on the bp511 battery. Does canon make their own that they put their name on and sell with their cameras, and after market ones are made by a different company, or are they all made by the same place, and canon just pays a little more to have their name put on it? What brings up this question is this... I just bought 3 batteries from this place... http://www.sterlingtek.com/ln03-canon-bp-511-dlc511.html for less than 1 canon bp511 from B&H. Others on this board have sworn by these cheaper batteries and said they are just as good. Just wondering if anyone knows any details of the origins of either canon's, or after market batteries. DougI use Sterlingtek batteries and they work great. No problem...... - 2010-02-07
» I have a NEW problem. Help?
Thanks for all your help on my sump pump issues. I'll be drilling the air bleed hole this weekend. We put the sump pump in last weekend. I can only assume my problem has something to do with this? Last night, my hubby was doing laundry. I heard bizarre water sounds from the bathroom. I ran in there and saw bubbles coming from the toilet. Then water started to back up into the tub! The toilet water level also rose! Then the water in the tub went back down & the toilet water level was normal. I stood there for a while and saw the water level in the toilet go down. Minutes later, it rose back up to level - stalled, then started with the bubbles again. Again at this time, water came back up into the tub from the bottom drain AND t...... - 2010-02-07

To their great surprise, the ESO astronomers discovered that the piece just ejected by fragment B was splitting again! Five other mini-comets are also visible on the image. » Your personality quirks
So, I was talking to another poster in the Anger Thread and he was mouthing off, (hahahaha) as males are wont to, about a girl that done him wrong and the female psyche in general. Reminded me of a test I took about what type of personality disorders you might be at risk of developing. Me? My results came back that I am at high risk of paranoid and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Thank God I'm older and somewhat wiser. Otherwise I'd spend days in a state of self-doubt and self-analysis, with no progress and little relief. ugh.

Ok... looking to see if this is possible or if we'd need to purchase A LOT of licenses for this... Setting up a main site with 30 subdomains which all link to the main site. With this, we're looking to setup the VB software. Assuming that the one forum can be used to support the subdomains, but wouldn't assume that the content could instantly update to that subdomain... (i.e... honda.cars.com and toyota.cars.com)... looking to see if one forum could update so that the honda portion is displayed for that section and then the toyota portion would update for that section when selected (not using those domains). i don't know why just asking!defiantly brains over beauty.

She ended up having the baby at 27 weeks gestation but only 24 weeks developed. He was less than 1.5 pounds at birth. Tough little guy won the fight for his life, but those first couple of months were very difficult for him. Although it cannot cover the wind speeds of the most intense tornadoes, it does cover most and is enough to destroy many if not most houses. That would be great! :A+:Next will be Flash 9. The only difference that I know of so far is the introduction of AS3.and there will be no 3dWhats AS3?"AS3" is ActionScript version 3. It will be similar to AS 2.0 but compile to it's own bytecode rather than just being a wrapper for Actionscript 1.0 with a different approach to the object orientation part. http://labs.macromedia.com/wiki/index.php/ActionScript_3 /MirandirOk. And will there be books out on actionscript 3? And when will flash 9 come out? And will it be new versions of dreamweaver etc (Studio 9)? :l...... - 2010-02-07

» I Got a new CD Program
Hey, a member here just gave me a CD program on japanese. I'm on lesson 6. Each lesson is 30 minutes long. The time sems to go by so fast. However, its extremely dated. The date on it is 1984. I hope the language hasn't changed drasitically since then. So far, of the 3 hours of watching it, ive learned a little bit. Its made by the "Japan foundation". There's a few quirks I can't stand on it: 1) So far, it has NOT explained how the particles are used. For "ni" it simply said it was for location, not all the other uses for it. For no, it didn't say anything; just that "anata no" meant "Your". This bugs me: Particles are crutial to know in japanese! 2) There's around a 4 to 5 minute 'skit' with a chubby man named Yan-san. » How to use IT to drive a newspaper's business
I would like to obtain ideas and information regarding what kind of information technology innovations could be used at a big, metropolitan newspaper in order to drive that newspaper's business. For instance: how could datamining be used to reduce subscriber churn or target new subscribers? Ditto regarding advertisers. Where, typically, are the inefficiencies within a newspaper's operations that could be addressed with new IT measures? Thank you.Marcfest -- Can you be a little more specific? » "Timed" animation of dynamic movieclips
Hi all, i'm new to the forum, but been a regular visitor for some time.. I guess I'll start off by asking a question :) I am creating a xmlMenu based off the "SquirrelFinder" menu (a tut on this site). I would like each item to "wait" for previous item to stop rolling in and then start rolling i...... - 2010-02-07

"So today we declare Malaysia free of the bird flu virus." They think my hair color is fine the way it is and they are very hard to convince so I need some REALLY good ideas to convince them and FAST! He's the go to man for taking care of America's dirty work. And then I'd say no. For the same reason. He is a fictional character on a tv show, not "a great American".Jack Bauer? Isn't he a television character? He isn't a real person. He's a scripted character. Sure, but Michael Scofield is the greatest American!Jack Bauer is THE great American. LOL.He is great, from 24. I love that show.solid snake could woop his ***...... - 2010-02-07
» legality of publishing photos
If you take a photograph of someone in a public place and have it published for reasons other than advertising, do you need a model release.hope this is helpful! http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7942 there's a link in there that mentions model release formsIn most countries it is legal unless the person photographed takes less than 13% of the whole photografy. Also it is legal when it is a crowd, but "crowd" isn't precisely defined. So if somebody is more less 13% of your photo it's ok. There might be some problems if the person photographed has his/her business card or id visible with his/her personal data....... - 2010-02-07

» Vorticity Questions
My only thought is that since surface ...... - 2010-02-07

» Old character actor photo book- papaerback
old paperback book- has pics of 1920's,30's 40's character actors- paperback. Think it was called,'Who is this?' or 'Who was that'? Would like to find title and buy a copyI believe you're looking for "Who Is That? The Late Late Viewer's Guide to The Old Old Movie Players," by Warren B. Meyers. The book was originally published in 1967, and has been reprinted several times. Here is a description of the hardback edition (it was also published as a paperback): "Photographs of hundreds of character actors from Hollywood's heyday. Illustrated by Jerry Lang & Gosta Viertel. » About how many presents do you get your children ?
for Christmas?

» The Comet With a Broken Heart
European Southern Observatory ESO. Astronomy made in Europe http://www.eso.org/outreach/press-rel/pr-2006/pr-15-06.html ESO 15/06 - Press Photo 25 April 2006 For immediate release The Comet With a Broken Heart VLT Takes Images of Disintegrating Comet P73/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3 On the night of April 23 to 24, ESO's Very Large Telescope observed fragment B of the comet Schwassmann-Wachmann 3 that had split a few days earlier. To their great surprise, the ESO astronomers discovered that the piece just ejected by fragment B was splitting again! Five other mini-comets are also visible on the image. The comet seems thus doomed to disintegrate but the question remains in how much time. Comet P73/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3 (SW 3) is a body with a ...... - 2010-02-07
Otherwise I'd spend days in a state of self-doubt and self-analysis, with no progress and little relief. ugh. Symptoms of Paranoid Personality Disorder: a) Unwillingness to forgive perceived insults b) Excessive sensitivity to setbacks c) Distrustfulness and excessive self-reliance d) Projection of blame ont...... - 2010-02-07
